Windows 98 Setup Instructions .

These pages are designed as a reference for setting up computers to access the Internet with froggy.net.au. This document will provide step-by-step instructions to setup your Internet connection on your computer.

1. To begin setting up your froggy.net.au Windows 98 Internet connection, Double click on the icon marked My Computer,

2. Double click on the icon marked Dial-Up Networking. If you do not have a Dial-Up Networking icon you will need to install Dial-Up Networking. To do this, click here.

3. Double click on the icon marked Make new connection.

4. Fill in the details as pictured below, and then click on the button marked Next.

5. Fill in the details as pictured below, choose the phone number for the city you live in from the table on the right and enter 02 8383 0083 for your local point of presence.

6. Once you have reached the screen pictured below, click on the button marked Finish.

7. You should now see an icon in Dial-Up Networking marked froggy.net.au.

8. You will need to click on this once so it highlights itself, then click on File and then Properties.

9. The screen you see now should look like the one below, Please take the tick out from Use Area code Dialing Properties and then click on the Server Types Tab on the top of the window.

10. Fill in the details as shown below, and then click on the button marked TCP/IP Settings.

11. These settings should generally be left unchanged. Just make sure that 'use default gateway on remote network' is ticked.

12. Next, click on the Scripting tab and fill out your screen as pictured below.

13. Next, click on the Multilink tab and make sure Do not use additional devices is selected and then click on the button marked Ok.

14. Click on the button marked Ok. After this, you have completed setting up an froggy.net.au Dial-Up Networking connection under Windows 98. You will need to restart your machine before all the settings will take effect, you can do this by clicking on the button marked Start then
clicking on Shutdown. Select Restart your computer? and click Ok.

Once the computer has restarted you are ready to log onto froggy.net.au by double clicking on the icon marked My Computer, double click on the Dial-Up Networking icon and then double click on the froggy.net.au icon.
