Netscape Communicator 4.7 Setup |

Netscape Communicator is a suite of software components for sharing, accessing, and communicating information via Intranets and the Internet. Communicator includes components for browsing, email, discussion groups, HTML authoring, calendaring and scheduling. IBM host communications, and Communicator management. froggy.net.au recommends that if you download this software, that you register and purchase it.

1. To begin checking your Netscape Communicator Settings, first open Communicator. Click on the Edit pull down menu and select Preferences. This will open up the Communicator Preferences window, which is accessible from anywhere within Communicator. 2. Open Mail & NewsGroups. |

These fields explained: Your Name: This is the name people see when they receive mail from you. It can be anything that can be entered with a keyboard. Email Address: Your E-mail address, in the form of your username@froggy.net.au.net.au. Reply-to Address: If you are checking mail from another account, set your reply to address to that address, otherwise leave it blank or have your E-mail address there. Organization: If you are using Communicator for business, fill your company’s name in here. Signature File: If you want a
signature file to appear at the bottom of all your outgoing e-mail
messages, you will need to make a text file and save it (preferably in the
C:\Program Files\Netscape directory). Then click on Choose and browse for
your Signature File. |

Click on 'add'

6. The Mail server user name is your log-in name for froggy.net.au. E.g: jsmith The Incoming and outgoing Mail servers are different depending on your type of account and area you live. For Pre-paid customers the
incoming mail server name is :

incoming mail server name is
: 7. Unless you wish to enter your password each time you collect your mail, enable ‘Remember my Mail Password.’ froggy.net.au's mail servers run using POP3 (or Post Office Protocol). If you are using IMAP, you will not be able to send or receive e-mail messages through froggy.net.au. 8. Click on POP |

Click on Ok 9. You will need to manually configure your proxy server settings, so click on Advanced then Proxies. |

Make sure that ‘direct conenction to
internet,' is the one that is selected.
10. Click OKwhen done. |

Try connecting back up to the Internet and type this address in to test out your browser's configuration: then to the Yahoo Search Engine If you receive an error message telling you that Navigator was unable to connect to the site http://www.yahoo.com.au or even the Proxy Server itself, double check the Proxy Server configuration and try again. |
